Wry Neck in Chickens

Wry neck happens in chickens for a variety of reasons.  One of the biggest cited is the lack of "greens" in their diet i.e. chooks that are caged all the time and are not given fresh grass and greens.

I have never had the problem but then my bids free range daily but I have met a lot of people who have.

The most common treatment is steriods.  I would not use steroids on my chooks so I am always looking for a natural way to avoid those harsh drugs and one person on the Swedish Flower Hen list, recommended, baby vitamins like Poly Vi Sol with Iron shown here.  The gal who had the problem said that within a week it worked like a charm and her chook no longer was suffering.  Good tip, but I think a pound of grass is better than the cure.
